Is it permissible for men to wear bracelets and braided or unbraided strings (other than gold and silver) around the neck or on the hand, if the intention is for permissible adornment or practical necessity, and not to imitate women, especially since it is customary to wear them in some societies?

There is no harm in men wearing threads if there is a necessity for it, such as carrying an identification number or a sports team name. However, wearing them for adornment without need or necessity is impermissible, because it is an imitation of women, and the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) cursed men who imitate women.
