What is the interpretation of verse 21 from Surat Ibrahim: "And Satan will say when the matter has been decided: 'Indeed, Allah promised you a promise of truth. And I promised you, then I broke my promise to you. And I had no authority over you except that I invited you, and you responded to me. So do not blame me, but blame yourselves. I cannot help you, nor can you help me. Indeed, I disbelieved in what you associated with me before. Indeed, for the wrongdoers there is a painful punishment'"?

Allah the Almighty informs us about Iblis's address to his followers on the Day of Resurrection, after Allah has judged between His servants. Iblis admits that he promised them but failed them, and that Allah's promise was true. Iblis denies having any authority or proof over them in his call; rather, he called them, and they responded to him merely by his call, while the Messengers established proofs and evidences against them. Iblis says: "So do not blame me today, but blame yourselves," and he affirms that he cannot aid them, nor can they aid him, and he disavows their associating him [with Allah] before.
