What are the characteristics of a righteous wife, and why do we marry her?

The wise Muslim chooses a righteous wife to be his companion in this world and the Hereafter. Her righteousness is embodied in safeguarding herself and her honor, possessing good character, accepting advice, and maintaining her connection with her Lord, so that she may be a sincere educator for her children. He must find peace in seeing her, and his heart must be content with her presence.

For the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "So win the one who is religious, you will be successful."

And his saying: "The one who pleases him when he looks at her, obeys him when he commands, and does not contradict him in herself or in his wealth with what he dislikes."
