His names "Al-Hayy (the Ever-Living), Al-Qayyum (the Sustainer of all existence)" indicate the perfection of His life and His self-subsistence, which necessitate all attributes of the Essence and Actions; these are the Greatest Names. Part of His perfect self-subsistence is that "neither slumber nor sleep overtakes Him." To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, in terms of ownership, creation, and governance. No one can intercede with Him except by His permission. He knows what is before His creations and what is behind them, and they encompass nothing of His knowledge except what He wills. "His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth," which is proof of His greatness and the vastness of His dominion, and "He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them. And He is the Most High, the Most Great." Thus, it contains the oneness of divinity, lordship, names, and attributes, and the encompassing nature of His dominion, knowledge, authority, greatness, and exaltedness.
