Is zakat obligatory on a sum of money designated for purchasing agricultural land, knowing that zakat on the money was already paid at the beginning of the Hijri year, and is the duration calculated up to the date of purchase?

It is permissible to give the zakat for all wealth in a single payment, in accordance with the opinion of the majority of scholars who permit expediting zakat, even though it is more appropriate to give the zakat for each acquired asset when its year is due. As for agricultural land that has been purchased, there is no zakat on it if its purchase was for personal use. However, if it was for trade, then its value should be assessed when a year has passed since its original purchase, and a quarter of a tenth of its value should be given as zakat.
