What is the ruling on Friday prayer if the number of worshippers does not exceed forty, or if the majority of the villagers are uneducated?

There is no sharia (definition) impediment to missing Jumu'ah prayer based on the incompleteness of the quorum required for its validity in the Shafi'i and Hanbali schools of thought. The presence of those who do not study in the village does not negate the obligation of Jumu'ah upon its inhabitants if the other conditions are met. It is not a condition for the obligation of Jumu'ah that everyone attending it be educated; rather, it suffices for there to be someone who can properly perform the obligatory parts of the prayer and the khutbah (definition) (sermon).
