What is the validity of the statement that Surah Ar-Rahman contains a great miracle for healing physical, psychological, spiritual, and incurable diseases, by listening to it three times daily for a week or more?
The entire Quran is guidance, healing, and mercy for the believers, for both ailments of the heart and body. There is no impediment to understanding healing in both senses. Prophetic narrations have affirmed the virtue of certain surahs in healing, such as Al-Fatihah, Al-, and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn. However, there is no indicating an additional virtue for Surah Ar-Rahman in treating illnesses. Specifying a particular surah for a specific number of times and for certain diseases is closer to innovation (bid'ah) and falsehood. The Quran is a healing for all diseases, but it is not permissible to specify certain verses for the (exorcism/healing recitation) of certain diseases without evidence.
