The answer

There is no authentic evidence for a special virtue of Surah Ar-Rahman in healing. Whoever claims so must provide proof, especially if they add restrictions such as claiming that hearing it in a specific voice is more effective, as this falls under innovation (bid'ah). The entire Qur'an is a healing and mercy for believers. It is a general healing for both physical and spiritual ailments, as Allah Almighty said: "And We send down from the Qur'an that which is a healing and a mercy to those who believe" and "O mankind, there has to come to you an admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts." The Qur'an is a complete healing from all diseases, but only those who genuinely and faithfully treat themselves with it, with complete acceptance and firm conviction, will be guided to seek healing through it. There are weak hadiths regarding the virtues of Surah Ar-Rahman, such as: "Everything has a bride, and the bride of the Qur'an is Ar-Rahman," and "The reciter of Al-Hadid, and Al-Waqi'ah, and Ar-Rahman is called in the dominion of the heavens and the earth, 'Dwellers of Firdaws.'"
