What is ruqyah (Islamic healing) and what are the verses mentioned in it?

Legitimate Ruqyah (Islamic incantation) is that which fulfills three conditions: that it be with the words of Allah, or His names and attributes, or what is authentically narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him; that it be in the Arabic language and its meaning be understood; and that it be believed that Ruqyah does not have an effect on its own, but rather by the decree of Allah. A person's own Ruqyah of themselves is considered the most beneficial of incantations, and Surah Al-Fatihah is among the most beneficial recitations for a sick person. When performing Ruqyah, one says: "In the name of Allah, I seek protection for you from everything that harms you, and from the evil of every soul or envious eye, may Allah heal you; in the name of Allah, I seek protection for you." If one complains of pain, they say: "In the name of Allah (three times)" then seven times: "I seek refuge in the might and power of Allah from the evil of what I find and what I fear." Ruqyah is beneficial for the evil eye, magic, jinn possession, and physical ailments. For protection from the evil eye and magic, one should maintain the morning and evening remembrances, Ayatul Kursi, Al-Ikhlas and Al-Mu'awwidhatayn (Al-Falaq and An-Nas) after every prayer and before sleeping, and the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah every night.
