Is the hadith true that whoever memorizes forty hadiths from the Prophet's hadiths (peace and blessings be upon him) will enter Paradise or be resurrected on the Day of Judgment in the company of scholars?

1. The hadith "Whoever memorizes forty hadiths for my Ummah will be written as a faqih (jurist)" is weak, despite the multiplicity of its chains of transmission and narrations with different wordings, such as "Allah will raise him as a scholar and a jurist" or "I will be his intercessor and witness on the Day of Resurrection."

a. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar said that all of its chains of transmission contain a debilitating defect.

b. Ibn al-Mulaqqin, Al-Daraqutni, and Al-Bayhaqi mentioned that its chains are weak and nothing from them is authentic. The memorizers of hadith agreed on its weakness, as noted by Al-Nawawi.

2. There are authentic hadiths that show the virtue of one who hears a hadith from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and conveys it, such as the hadith of Zayd ibn Thabit: "May Allah brighten the face of a person who hears a hadith from us, memorizes it, and conveys it to others..." which means that Allah will grant him joy and happiness in this world and the Hereafter.
