How authentic is the Hadith attributed to the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, which states: "Whoever memorizes Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran, then make him your shaykh"?

The virtue of Surahs Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran is immense, for they will intercede for their companions on the Day of Resurrection. Reciting them brings blessings, while abandoning them brings regret. As for the hadith mentioned, "Whoever memorizes Al-Baqarah and Al-Imran will become a sheikh," it has no basis. However, there are authentic and weak hadiths regarding honoring those who memorize them. So, whoever memorizes them "is considered among us to be of great importance" and is given precedence in leadership. The term "sheikh" has two meanings: an elderly person, and one who is suitable to be learned from. And the glorification of Allah Almighty necessitates honoring the bearer of the Qur'an.
