Is it true that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to call Aisha by "Aish"? And is it permissible to call one's wife by the name "Malik" or "Malak," given that it is a name for men?

The Prophet's calling of 'Aisha, may Allah be pleased with her, "Ya 'Aish" by omitting the taa marbuta (ة) is called tarkheem. Tarkheem is the omission of the end of names for lightness, endearment, and brevity. Ibn Battal and Al-Nawawi stated that tarkheem is permissible, especially if it does not cause harm to the person whose name is being shortened. There is no objection to calling one's wife by her shortened name (ism murakhkham), even if it resembles the form of male names, as the context distinguishes between them.
