What is the ruling on purchasing gold or silver with a prepaid Visa card from foreign websites, with the possibility of a refund or returning the item, and does this ruling include jewelry plated with gold or studded with precious stones?

It is permissible to buy gold with a prepaid card (covered card) as long as the exchange is immediate, and the resolution of the Fiqh Academy has stipulated the permissibility of this. It is even more permissible to buy precious stones, diamonds, and gold-plated jewelry, as immediate exchange is not a condition for them if gold is not the primary intent.

If the possibility of recovering the money means that the sale has not yet been completed, or that you have the option of returning it due to a defect, then there is no problem with this. However, if you mean that you have a conditional option to cancel the sale if the gold does not suit you, then the contract is void according to the majority of scholars.
