Is the supplication: "Our Lord, grant us good in this world" comprehensive of all worldly good, or is it specific?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

This supplication is among the comprehensive prayers for the good of this world and the Hereafter. It is permissible for a Muslim to supplicate with it with the intention of obtaining what they desire, be it wealth, children, or other things. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to prefer comprehensive supplications. And most of his supplications were: "O Allah, our Lord, grant us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."
