Is it forbidden for a wife to remain with her husband who practices sodomy, given that she does not wish to divorce at present?

A woman's remaining with her husband, even if he commits a heinous sin, is not forbidden. However, it is preferable for her to seek a divorce if he persists in it. Her fear of people's talk should not prevent her from doing so; rather, she should strive for the pleasure of her Lord and the safety of her religion, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever seeks Allah's pleasure at the expense of people's displeasure, Allah will suffice him against people's burden. And whoever seeks people's pleasure at the expense of Allah's displeasure, Allah will entrust him to people."
