Is it permissible to remove the niqab in front of the the husband's stepfather, who is not the husband's biological father?

The husband of the husband's mother, who is not the husband's father, is not a mahram to the wife, due to the absence of any blood relation, marital affinity, or suckling relationship. Therefore, he is a stranger (ajnabi) to her, and she is not permitted to uncover her face in front of him. The noble verses in Surah An-Nisa and Surah An-Nur clarify the mahrams before whom a woman may display her adornment. The Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas has affirmed that it is not permissible for a woman to show her face to her husband's stepfather or to his maternal brother, as they fall under the general category of those from whom she must observe hijab.
