What are the books that scholars have warned against in the field of Fiqh?
One must beware of the books of innovators and people of whims, for they mix truth with falsehood and fabricated narrations with authentic ones to pass off their deviant beliefs, especially for a beginner who does not possess sufficient scholarly knowledge to distinguish between truth and falsehood. Indeed, knowledge should only be taken from those whose knowledge, trustworthiness, righteousness, and adherence to the methodology of Ahlus- wal-Jama'ah are reliable.
A beginner should also avoid books that contain sharpness and boldness towards scholars, such as "Al-Muhalla" by Ibn Hazm and the books of Ibn al-Arabi al-Maliki. This is because they might instill hatred and distrust towards diligent imams whose knowledge and piety the Ummah has collectively affirmed. Although these are valuable books, their harm to a beginner might outweigh their benefit.
