What kind of tree did Iblis tempt Adam and Eve to eat from, and was it a fig, an apple, or something else?

It has not been authentically established in the Book of Allah or the sound Sunnah of His Prophet what specific tree Allah Almighty forbade Adam and his wife from. Most of what has been narrated regarding its designation comes from the People of the Book or from the Tabi'un (successors), and these are differing opinions, ranging between: a fig tree, or a grapevine, or wheat. The correct statement is that Allah forbade Adam and his wife from eating from a specific tree in Paradise, and we have no knowledge of what tree it was, because Allah did not provide evidence for that in the Qur'an or the sound Sunnah.
