Peace be upon you. What is the accursed tree in the Qur'an?

The majority of exegetes are of the view that the accursed tree in the Qur'an is the tree of Zaqqum, which is mentioned in Surat Ad-Dukhan: "Indeed, the tree of Zaqqum is the food of the sinful." Its tribulation occurred when Abu Jahl mocked the Prophet Muhammad's warning about the existence of a tree in Hellfire. He then ordered dates and butter to be brought and invited his companions to eat from it.
