Does the tree of Zaqqum, mentioned in the Qur'an, exist in Najd, north of the Arabian Peninsula, and is what has been reported about its image correct?

The tree of Zaqqum is the food of the inhabitants of Hellfire. It is known for "tazaqqum," which is swallowing with great difficulty and effort. It is a tree whose taste is bitter and repugnant. They eat from it due to intense hunger, and they are tormented by it. Scholars have differed on whether it is an earthly tree, but the correct view is that it is a tree from the trees of Hellfire, having no counterpart or likeness in this world. Allah Almighty has described it with repulsive characteristics to indicate that it is unknown to them.
