Is it permissible for Muslims to donate their eyes after death?

The Council of Senior Scholars has decided:

Firstly: It is permissible to transplant a cornea from a deceased person's eye into the eye of a Muslim in need, after confirming the donor's death, provided the donor's guardians do not object. This is based on the principle of realizing the greater of two benefits and preferring the benefit of the living.

Secondly: It is permissible to transplant a healthy cornea from an eye that has been medically determined to be removed from a person due to an anticipated danger to him, and to implant it into the eye of another Muslim who is in need of it. This is because it provides a benefit to the recipient without causing harm to the donor.
