Is it permissible to donate bodily organs after death?

Contemporary scholars differed on the ruling concerning the transplantation of human organs, presenting three views: absolute prohibition, absolute permissibility, and detailed permissibility. Proponents of the third view permit organ transplantation from both the living and the deceased, provided that the donor is not a Muslim, arguing that necessity can be met by non-Muslims, and the general principle is the inviolability of a Muslim's body. A Muslim is not permitted to donate their organs after death, because they do not own their body and are not authorized over it. However, some scholars made an exception for donating a kidney and cornea from a Muslim if there is a need and no danger to the donor.
