What is the ruling on the prayer of one who missed congregational prayer due to his obsessive thoughts, and due to water splashing from removing impurities in the bathroom, and what is the ruling on water splashing from faucets in public restrooms? Is it a condition to wipe urine three times? What is the ruling on water remaining on the hand after removing urine? And what is the extent of the validity of the statement attributed to Ibn al-Qayyim that the obsessive person does not repeat the prayer even if it contained a deficiency?

The cure for obsessive doubts (waswas) is to ignore them and pay them no mind. A person afflicted with waswas can act upon what is easy for them from the sayings of the jurists, for the religion of Allah is ease. Therefore, do not repeat ablution (wudu) or prayer (salat) due to obsessive doubts. Do not wash a limb more than three times. Do not deem anything impure except with absolute certainty. Water separated after removing impurity is pure as long as it has not changed due to it. To wash away impurity, it is sufficient to pour water until it is removed. It is not permissible to delay prayer until its time has expired. Ablution must be performed like a normal person, while striving against obsessive doubts.
