Is it disliked (makrooh) or forbidden (haraam) to pray at the time of sunset or sunrise, and why?

Supererogatory prayers are recommended at all times except during the prohibited times, which are: from after the Fajr prayer until the sun rises to the height of a spear, when the sun is at its zenith until it declines, and from after the Asr prayer until the sun sets. What is considered is each person's own prayer; so, once someone prays Asr, prayer becomes forbidden for them until the sun sets. The wisdom behind this prohibition is to avoid imitating disbelievers and to block every path that leads to polytheism. As for the prohibition when the sun is at its zenith and standing still, it is because at that time, hellfire is intensified.
