What is the ruling on a wife refusing her husband intimacy after he sexually harassed her sister-in-law, who raised their children?
His father's shortcomings in fulfilling the rights of his wife and children do not justify disobedience to him; for righteousness towards him is an obligation, even if he were a disbeliever, as Allah Almighty says: "But if they endeavor to make you associate with Me that of which you have no knowledge, then do not obey them, but accompany them in [this] world with appropriate kindness." And as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said to Asma bint Abi Bakr: "Maintain ties with your mother." It is not permissible for the wife to refuse her husband's bed, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "If a man invites his wife to his bed and she refuses, and he spends the night angry with her, the angels curse her until morning." The father must treat his uncle's wife kindly and not harass her, as Allah Almighty says: "Is the reward for good [anything] but good?"
