If you mean masturbation, it is a bad habit with harmful effects, and repentance from it is easy for whoever is sincere with God, by seeking His help and taking the means of repentance.
But if you mean sodomy, it is one of the major sins and abominations, and its perpetrator deserves punishment and disgrace. One must hasten to immediate repentance with its conditions: abandoning the sin, regretting it, and a sincere resolve not to return to it, and staying away from everything that leads to it.
Among the things that help with this are: seeking help from God, relying on Him, contemplating His blessings, remembering death and the Hereafter, avoiding the company of sinners, associating with the righteous, frequent remembrance of God (dhikr) and supplication (du'a), and filling free time with beneficial deeds.
As for marriage, if what happened did not affect sexual ability, then marriage is preferable, following the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and marriage is better than dedicating oneself to worship.
