What is the ruling on doubting the authenticity of the book "Sahih al-Bukhari" and the credibility of Imam al-Bukhari and other religious scholars, and is it permissible to say: "I believe in al-Bukhari"?

Scholars have agreed that the most authentic books after the Holy Quran are Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, and the Ummah has accepted them without reservation, which indicates their reliability and authority. Therefore, there is no blame upon whoever says: "I believe in Bukhari," because it is truth and veracity.

The slight criticism that the two Sahihs have faced came after meticulous examination and scrutiny throughout the ages, and it is not permissible to disregard this scholarly effort merely due to suspicion.

The people of Hadith and Athar are the most deserving of guidance and guiding people, and they have a significant share in Allah's saying: (And among those We created is a community who guide by the truth and by it they act justly) [Quran 7:181].

Indeed, slandering trustworthy narrators demolishes the foundations of narration, and consequently, no path for transmission remains.
