What is the interpretation of the noble verse: (And eight will uphold the Throne of your Lord above them on that Day)?
Allah Almighty informs us about the terrors of the Day of Judgment, which begin with the blast of terror, then the blast of unconsciousness, followed by the blast of rising and resurrection. This is succeeded by the changing of the earth and the cleaving of the heavens. The angels will line up along the edges of the heaven, and above them, on that Day, eight will bear the Throne of your Lord.
The Throne differs from other creations, and it has bearers both now and on the Day of Judgment, who glorify Allah and seek forgiveness for the believers. Scholars have differed regarding the meaning of "eight": 1. Eight rows of angels. 2. Eight angels.
The verse indicates that Allah has a Throne that is borne, and that this Throne is not the dominion itself, but rather angels bear the Throne, while others are around it. These are among the unseen matters in which one must believe, and there should be no inquiry into their exact nature.
