What is Islam's view on a Muslim woman remaining alone in a Western country to earn a livelihood, despite having the option to return to her home country and sacrifice a prestigious position and salary for an Islamic environment?

A person cannot choose between right and wrong, or lawful and unlawful. A Muslim woman must preserve her faith and chastity, and she should be reminded of the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Whoever gives up something for the sake of Allah, Allah will compensate him with something better." Allah has opened many avenues of sustenance for those who abandon forbidden things. A girl's staying with her parents and taking care of them is better than her leaving them, and one should not pursue this fleeting world at the expense of religion. Mixed-gender work environments, traveling without a mahram, and residing in lands of disbelievers are dangerous for one's faith, self, and honor. Remote work via the Internet could be a legitimate and good alternative for Muslim women.
