What is the best course of action towards someone who insults Allah, His Messenger, or the religion when inviting people to Islam?

The caller to Islam is advised to use gentleness, kindness, and good admonition in his call. He must avoid speech that may lead to insulting Allah the Almighty or His Messenger, in accordance with His saying, the Most High: "And do not insult those they invoke other than Allah, lest they insult Allah in enmity without knowledge."

If the person being called insults Allah or His Messenger, it should be considered: If discussing with him will be beneficial, then he should clarify the error of his action with evidence. However, if he knows that the discussion will only increase his arrogance and persistence in insulting, then he should turn away from him and abandon his conversation, in response to His saying, the Most High: "And turn away from the ignorant," and His saying, the Most High, in describing the believers: "And when they hear ill speech, they turn away from it and say, 'For us are our deeds, and for you are your deeds. Peace be upon you; we seek not the ignorant.'"
