The answer

The Sharia necessitates justice between children in gifts (hiba). However, a father is not obligated to be just between his children in compulsory maintenance, such as spending on the marriage of a needy child, if this is customary. As for the mother, she must be just between her children in gifts absolutely, unless the gift is for special circumstances like poverty or illness, in which case she is not obligated to give to the rest who are not in need. It is permissible for a person to divide their wealth among their heirs during their lifetime, provided they do not intend to harm some of them, and that they are just between them by giving the male twice the share of the female.
