Is it obligatory to continue studying at a legitimate institute that holds the view that the methodology of Ibn Taymiyyah and Salafism, concerning the descriptive attributes of Allah Almighty (sifat Allah al-khabariyyah), does not align with the methodology of the Righteous Predecessors (Salaf as-Salih), or is it obligatory to leave it and search for another online center for Islamic sciences that follows the correct methodology and encompasses all Islamic sciences?

The correct 'aqidah (creed) is derived from the Qur'an, the Sunnah, and the sayings of the Companions. This is the path followed by Ibn Taymiyyah and those who came after him, in contrast to the Mutakallimun (speculative theologians) who were influenced by philosophy and logic and strayed from revelation. Rashid Rida testified that the works of Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn al-Qayyim are among the best ever written regarding guidance, verification, and conformity to the Qur'an and Sunnah. He added that they combined vast knowledge and scholarly precision in both transmitted and rational sciences, and they rivaled the books of the Mutakallimun by articulating the methodology of the Salaf (pious predecessors). There is no harm in studying at Sharia institutes that teach the doctrines of the Mutakallimun if a student needs to, provided one is mindful of what contradicts the 'aqidah of the Salaf and avoids disputation. However, it is preferable to enroll in institutes that prescribe the 'aqidah of the Salaf.
