The answer

Al-Bayhaqi, Al-Dhahabi, and others narrated the story of Thabit Al-Bunani and his supplication to Allah to grant him the ability to pray in his grave. It was said that his prayer was answered, and he was seen praying in his grave. Some scholars consider this story authentic and view it as one of the miracles (karamat) that Allah bestows upon whomever He wills among His servants. Therefore, there is no harm in the aforementioned supplication, as it is like supplicating that Allah make the supplicant one of His awliya (saints/close friends).
