What is the meaning of salt or sprinkling salt to sorcerers?

We have nothing conclusive to explain what sprinkling salt means for sorcerers, but it is narrated that it contains a cure for magic. Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Abd al-Ghani mentioned in his book: sprinkling salt around the house, washing clothes in salty seawater, and washing the house with water containing salt with the intention of getting rid of the effects of magic, or putting salt in the main water tank of the house, as he heard from some women that it is a healing ruqyah for all magic.
