Is it permissible to perform the Farewell circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada') in the Sacred Mosque during the Friday sermon?

Scholars have differed concerning the ruling on circumambulating (tawaf) during the'Friday sermon (khutbah). The Malikis prohibited it, analogizing it to prayer. The Shafi'is permitted it. Sheikh Ibn Jibreen chose to prohibit circumambulating during the Friday sermon, whether it be obligatory or supererogatory, due to the obligation of listening attentively to the sermon. He made an exception for the Eid sermon because it is sunnah (recommended) and one is not required to stay for it.
