The hijab is a divine obligation, and it is a safeguard and chastity for women. It is an act of obedience to Allah that completes a person's Islam. What the questioner mentions about worldly successes for immodestly dressed women is a gradual enticement (istidraj) from Allah. When Allah bestows blessings upon a person who persists in disobedience, that person is being gradually enticed. Many people do not accept an immodestly dressed woman as a wife because they know of her lack of uprightness. And whoever thinks she will commit to the hijab after marriage is ignorant and deluded, as there is no guarantee of her life or her success after marriage. Piety brings a way out of every difficulty and provision from where one does not expect.
