Is it permissible to suffice with maintaining kinship ties via telephone if going to them causes harm and humiliation from siblings, and with no support from the mother?

Maintaining kinship ties is obligatory upon siblings, and their misconduct does not negate the obligation to maintain ties nor does it permit severing them. However, if a visit leads to harm, then visiting is not obligatory. Any other form of maintaining ties that conventionally negates قطع (severance) is sufficient, such as phone communication, giving gifts, visiting the sick, providing financial support, or offering assistance. Even exchanging greetings is considered a form of maintaining ties, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Maintain ties with your kin, even if only by سلام (greeting)." This is a concession, but the stronger resolution is to endure harm and persist in maintaining kinship ties in their most complete forms.
