What is the religious ruling regarding a wife's request for divorce from her husband who ignores her efforts and sacrifices, describes her as a corrupter of their children for buying necessities for them, directs insults and blame at her for her shortcomings towards him, and threatens her with divorce, in addition to his negligence of his duty to his Lord and his distance from his religion, his neglect of his obligations towards his children and home, and his harsh treatment of his children?

Do not hasten to seek a divorce. Try to reach an understanding with your husband and advise him to maintain prayer at its prescribed times. Seek help from some righteous relatives to advise him on fulfilling his duties towards his children and treating them well. You should encourage him to associate with righteous people and listen to beneficial admonitions, and cooperate with him in obeying Allah, while earnestly supplicating for his guidance. If he does not straighten up, then consult with the wise among your family and weigh the harm of divorce against the harm of remaining with him, choosing the lesser of the two harms.
