Is the virtue mentioned in the Hadith: "Whoever goes to the mosque with no intention other than to learn good or teach it, will have a reward like that of a pilgrim whose Hajj is complete," specific to the mosque, or does it encompass places where knowledge is acquired? And if it is specific to the mosque, does it refer to the Prophet's Mosque or mosques in general?
The indicating that "whoever goes to the mosque in the morning to learn or teach good, for him is the reward of an ' performer, and whoever goes to it in the evening, for him is the reward of a Hajj performer" was narrated by Al-Hakim and Al-Tabarani. Al-Hakim and Al-Dhahabi authenticated it, and Al-Albani graded it as (good). This virtue is specific to the mosque.
As for the other virtue, namely that "whoever enters the mosque to learn or teach good is like a mujahid (striver) in the way of Allah," it was mentioned in relation to the Prophet's Mosque. Scholars have differed on whether it is exclusive to the Prophet's Mosque or if it encompasses all mosques.
