It is permissible to pay money to a middleman for employment if he exerts effort in searching for work and finalizing procedures without bribery or abrogating a right, provided the work is permissible and you are qualified for it. However, if he will rely on bribery or forging documents to establish falsehood or abrogate a right, it is not permissible to deal with him, and the inability to recover the amount does not make it permissible to continue with the forbidden transaction.
