Is supplication during the recitation of the Holy Quran answered and recommended?

Supplicating during the recitation of the Quran is permissible and recommended. This involves asking Allah for His bounty when passing by a verse of mercy, and seeking refuge in Him when passing by a verse of torment. This is recommended for every reciter, whether in prayer or outside of it, and this has been authentically established from the Prophet, may Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him.
