Is it possible to combine studying engineering with seeking religious knowledge, and is it permissible to move between branches of religious knowledge before completing the previous branch to alleviate routine, and is it sufficient to memorize Quranic evidences without memorizing the complete surahs, along with a request for recommendations of audio lectures for explaining lessons and reliable books on the biography of the righteous predecessors, and are there simplified and reliable commentaries for the books "'Umdat al-Fiqh" and "'Umdat al-Ahkam"?

The path of seeking sacred knowledge is long and requires patience and perseverance. A good amount of it can be acquired alongside a worldly specialization if high resolve is maintained, coupled with consistent reading of religious texts. Sacred knowledge demands the heart's devotion and the removal of distractions; it will not give you some of itself until you give it your all. The seeker of knowledge should be firm in his acquisition, taking little by little according to the capacity of his memory and understanding, and constantly reviewing what he has memorized. He must take issues and sciences according to his capacity and ability, and not force himself to memorize what is difficult for him, while persevering in memorization, especially the memorization of the Holy Quran. The heart can bear some things and is unable to bear others. Therefore, the seeker of knowledge should limit himself to what remains in his memory and settles in his heart, and set for himself a limit at which he stops so that knowledge becomes stable. Students of knowledge should strive their utmost to acquire abundant knowledge, be patient in seeking it, purify their intentions for Allah, and seek His help. One can benefit from the lectures of contemporary scholars, read books such as "Siyar A'lam an-Nubala'" (The Lives of Noble Figures), seek Allah's help, supplicate, and consistently maintain sincerity in seeking knowledge.
