Any woman who seeks divorce from her husband without a convincing reason is forbidden the scent of Paradise. A man marrying a second wife does not harm the first as long as he adheres to justice between them. Therefore, a wife is not permitted to seek divorce for this reason, and if she files a lawsuit for it, the judge will not rule in her favor for divorce. Divorce is the right of the husband, and the judge does not rule for it unless the husband harms his wife or is unable to provide for her maintenance. If there is no reason to compel the husband to divorce, then the judge's divorce is void, and her marriage contract to a second husband is void because she is still the wife of the first.
