What are the days and times favored by Islamic law for the completion of a marriage contract?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

It is recommended to solemnize the marriage contract on Friday evening, because it is a blessed day and a day of Eid, and Adam (peace be upon him) was created on it. A group of the Salaf recommended it, and because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Conclude marriage contracts in the evening, for it is greater in blessing." It is also Sunnah for the marriage contract to be in the month of Shawwal. It is forbidden to solemnize the marriage contract while in a state of ihram for Hajj or Umrah, and during the Friday sermon.
