Is it permissible for the groom to enter upon veiled women to sit with the bride in the "kosha" on the wedding day?

The groom sitting on his wedding day with his wife amidst women is not devoid of corrupting influences, even if they are veiled. This custom is alien to Islamic societies and a blind imitation of non-Muslims. The appropriate place for the groom is not among them; rather, women should be with women, and men with men. Among the corrupting influences resulting from this is that some women observe the groom and describe him meticulously, and he may become impressed by some of them, or his gaze may fall upon some of them due to their unveiling or their veils falling. This custom does not conform to the guidance of the Prophet, peace be upon him, nor the guidance of his companions, so it is not permissible to adhere to it, and warning against it is obligatory.
