Do the rulings of travel end upon entering the first houses of the village when returning?

A traveler begins shortening prayers upon leaving all the houses of his town, and his journey ends upon reaching the first houses of his town (the place from which he began shortening). This is the view of Malik, Abu Hanifa, Ahmad, and the majority of scholars.
