What is the fate and recompense of the oppressor after being forgiven in this world and the Hereafter?

Injustice involves two rights: a right belonging to Allah and a right belonging to the oppressed. If the oppressed forgives their oppressor, their right is relinquished. However, Allah’s right is not relinquished except through the oppressor's repentance. Their repentance involves regret, abstaining from the sin, and resolving never to return to it. If the oppressor does not repent, they remain subject to punishment even if the oppressed forgives them, unless Allah forgives them. Every human right entails a right of Allah. Repentance relinquishes Allah’s right, but the human injustice remains the responsibility of the transgressor. An example of this is a murderer, who incurs three rights: a right belonging to Allah, which is relinquished by repentance; a right belonging to the guardian (of the victim), which is relinquished by retribution, reconciliation, or forgiveness; and the right of the victim, which Allah compensates on the Day of Judgment.
