Second: Obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) can develop and negatively impact marital life. Its cure lies in remembrance (dhikr), obedience (to Allah), and ignoring the intrusive thoughts. Some cases may require consultation with a psychiatrist. Therefore, it is suggested to postpone the marriage until he can overcome the effects of this illness.

A final note: The suitor is a stranger to his fiancée. Therefore, private seclusion (khalwa) or shaking hands between them is not permissible, nor is it permissible for her to remove her hijab in front of him. One of her maharim (unmarriageable kin) must be present with them when they sit together.
