Does the omission of a verse from Surat Al-Ahzab when Hafsa's Mushaf was transcribed indicate a deficiency in the compilation of the Noble Qur'an during the era of Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq, or negligence on the part of the Companions in its collection and care, or a shortcoming on the part of Hafsa (may Allah be pleased with her), and did Uthman return the Mushaf incomplete?

The noble Companions are the best of the nation, and Allah and His Messenger have praised them. Allah has guaranteed the preservation of the Quran by saying: "Indeed, it is We who sent down the message [i.e., the Quran], and indeed, We will be its guardian," (Quran 15:9). Therefore, the Quran would not have been diminished by the death of Khuzaymah al-Ansari or anyone else, as the verse was preserved by the Companions. It has not been reported that Uthman returned the scriptures to the Mother of the Believers without adding what was missing from them. It is more likely that Zayd ibn Thabit added it when he compiled the original mushaf.
