What is the ruling on wearing a belt over a dress in front of women and unmarriageable kin (mahram)?

A woman is permitted to wear a belt over her dress in front of women and her mahrams. This is considered permissible adornment for a woman, as women have customarily done so since ancient times. The noble verse clarifies: "And let them not expose their adornment except to their husbands, or their fathers, or their husbands' fathers, or their sons, or their husbands' sons, or their brothers, or their brothers' sons, or their sisters' sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women..." [An-Nur: 31]. This verse indicates that displaying hidden adornment, such as a belt, and its locations, like the neck and leg, is permissible for those mentioned in the verse.
